FamilyLife’s Art of Parenting®
As a parent, you are the number one influence on your children in every area of their life. For many busy parents and stepparents, it is common to treat raising children and practicing your own faith as two separate parts of life, yet they can be beautifully intertwined.
The best way to learn is from other parents who have applied timeless principles to the highs and lows of parenting. FamilyLife’s Art of Parenting does just that. It gives you a simple vision and creative ways to make faith the core of your parenting.
There are two formats available:
1. Online course.
Our online course is a digital experience to help individual parents or couples instill faith in their children. It includes:
- High-impact videos rooted in the reliable word of God.
- Activities, questions, and printables.
- Bonus materials addressing a variety of parenting stages, specific parenting challenges, and marital help.
- A foundational “raising and releasing” activity for each child to capture your vision.
- Sections on character, discipline, relationships, identity, mission, and more.
- 24 short videos, 8-10 minutes each, that address the eight session topics.
- Brief interactive questions to encourage discussion between spouses/parents.
- A digital arrow chart (to be used in eight guided parenting projects).
- Access to bonus content (age-related videos, expert clips, articles, e-books, a 30-day prayer guide, and podcast).
2. Small-group series.
For some, life change happens best in the community. For those parents, we created FamilyLife’s Art of Parenting Small-Group Series, an eight-session, video-based study designed to help parents find new ways to integrate their faith into everyday parenting moments. Designed for use in church or home-based groups.
We’ll help group leaders guide parents on their journey to make their faith core to their parenting with intentional, biblical instruction and Christ-centered plans that “aim children’s hearts toward God.” For parents, the result will be renewed confidence in parenting, fresh insights on parenting children of different ages, and a parenting plan unique to each child’s personality and gifts. It includes:
- Group discussion questions for after each video session.
- Workbooks with questions for discussion questions, activities for individual reflection and growth, and additional parenting articles and help.
- An arrow chart activity that runs throughout the eight sessions resulting in a parenting plan unique to each child (two arrow charts are included in each workbook).
- Access to digital bonus content (age-related videos, expert clips, articles, e-books, a 30-day prayer guide, and podcast).
