To win people to Christ and to heal and strengthen marriages and families by leading a team of volunteers in the execution of all local invitational strategies for the Weekend to Remember.
Varies depending on season, market, size of team, and number of events. In general, Weekend to Remember Director couples invest about 1-2 hours per week during their “off-season” (the planning and networking phase of the annual cycle) and 3-6 hours per week the rest of the year. There are increased time requirements for occasional team meetings, and for activities immediately preceding and following the Weekend to Remember.
Minimum two- year commitment with a 90-day placement review.
- Must have served on a local FamilyLife volunteer team for at least one full event cycle.
- Must be an active group coordinator.
- Must be a married couple.
- Viewed as leaders by other team members.
- Have demonstrated an ability to motivate and encourage other team members.
- Completely understands and can articulate the relationship between team activities and transformed lives and marriages.
- Has the capacity to devote the increased amount of time necessary to lead, and makes the team a priority.
- Proven history of effectiveness and faithfulness in ministry.
- Responds in a timely and appropriate way to team and rep communication.
- Takes initiative in carrying out assignments and striving to meet goals and objectives.
- Possesses a basic working knowledge of the internet, email, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- Desires to achieve goals.
- Walk with Christ.
- Model godly family relationships.
- Pray for the team, for FamilyLife leadership, and for effective completion of this ministry.
- Serve as the primary contact for the team in working with the local FamilyLife ministry representative(s).
- Meet regularly with the local ministry rep(s).
The following responsibilities are to be carried out in a collaborative and coordinated fashion with the local ministry rep. The extent to which these items are carried out by the director couple or the rep depends upon the unique skills, gifts, and experience of the couple:
- Grow the local team.
- Ensure new team members are effectively trained.
- Lead the team to discover and coach group coordinators.
- Lead team ministry activities onsite during the local Weekend to Remember.
- Lead team ministry activities in networking with local churches and Christian organizations to develop new ministry opportunities.
- Lead regular team meetings (approximately 6-10 per year).
- Monitor and be accountable for Weekend to Remember group registration goals.
- Monitor and measure progress towards team goals and objectives.
- Provide clear communication within the team.
- Effectively and efficiently resolve team issues in a manner that brings closure and maintains team momentum.
- Lead the team to celebrate what God does in transforming lives and families.
- Become thoroughly familiar with the Annual Cycle and Strategic Timeline, and maintain an awareness of key dates and events.
- Become familiar with the volunteer website, including all resources and tools available.
- Complete all training courses on the Training page of the volunteer website.
- Become familiar with the two Weekend to Remember Prayer Guides, the Weekend to Remember Prayer Request Dissemination Policy, and the Weekend to Remember Prayer Room Policy.
