Ministry PositionWeekend to Remember Community Plan Team Leader

Reports To:  Weekend to Remember Director. If none, then FamilyLife Ministry Representative

Purpose:  To win people to Christ, and to heal and strengthen marriages and families, by leading team invitational strategies among community groups, Christian businesses, and non-church Christian organizations.

Time Commitment: Varies depending on season, market, size of team, and number of events. In general, Community Plan Team Leaders invest about 1 hour per week in summer and 2-3 hours per week the rest of the year. There are increased time requirements for occasional team meetings, and for activities immediately preceding and following the Weekend to Remember.

Length of Commitment:  Minimum one year commitment with a 90-day placement review

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must have served on a local FamilyLife volunteer team for at least one full event cycle
  • Must be an active group coordinator
  • Proven track record of demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proven history of effectiveness and faithfulness in ministry
  • Possess a basic working knowledge of the internet, email, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel

  • Pray for the team, for FamilyLife leadership, and for effective completion of this ministry
  • Lead the team in creating and executing a strategy for intentionally networking with non-church Christian business and organizations, and community groups, to invite employees and members to FamilyLife events.
  • Proactively equip local organizations as above with invitational resources such as brochures and posters.
  • Attend and participate in regular team meetings (approximately 6 – 10 per year)
  • Monitor and be accountable for Weekend to Remember group registration goals

Required Training:

  • Familiarization with FamilyLife’s Corporate Sponsorship Plan, including invitational resources and videos: http://www.familylife.com/weekend-to-remember/scholarships/corporate-sponsorship.
  • Clear understanding of the invitation process for the WTR, and content on the Invite Others section on the FamilyLife website. http://familylifeministries.org/invite/
  • Familiarization with GC Mobile and the Resources section containing links, FamilyLife’s social media platforms, and inviting resources.
  • Familiarization with local Christian business groups, networks, and organizations.
