Ministry Position: Spiritual Follow-Up Specialist

Reports To:  Weekend to Remember Director

Purpose:  To make initial connections with individuals who make a significant decision for Christ at Weekend to Remember events, to confirm and affirm salvation decisions, and to help connect new believers with a local avenue to take next steps in their faith.

Time Commitment:  1-2 hours per week, with greater requirements immediately following events.

Positional Category: Volunteer

General Qualifications:  See Qualifications page

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be an active Group Coordinator

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate the gospel message using the method of their own choice (the Romans Road, the Four Spiritual Laws, Steps to Peace With God, etc).
  • Demonstrate a strong and solid personal walk with God
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and relational skills

Responsibilities:

  • Consistent walk with Christ.
  • By God’s grace, model godly family relationships.
  • Attend and participate in Area Team meetings
  • Participate in team ministry efforts onsite during the Weekend to Remember(s)
  • Contact all who indicate that they received Jesus Christ during your local Weekend to Remember(s):

    • Allow them to share what God did in their hearts at the WTR to bring them to a salvation decision
    • Through discussion, assess what next steps might be appropriate to help them grow in their faith
    • Utilize FamilyLife and/or Cru resource material to help as next steps
    • Ask how you can pray for and encourage them presently, then pray with and for them
    • Follow-up as a form of encouragement and ongoing prayer support, as appropriate
  • The next level of spiritual follow-up, for those who have the capacity and calling, would be to follow up with others who indicate significant spiritual transformation during a FamilyLife event (checked another spiritual decision box, shared a life-change testimony, or indicated a significant growth jump in their marital unity)
