Ministry Position:  Social Media Coordinator

Reports To:  Weekend to Remember Director

Purpose:  To win people to Christ, and to heal and strengthen marriages and families, by utilizing the platform of social media to multiply the invitational strategy of the local Volunteer Team and the Group Coordinators they serve.

Time Commitment:  1-2 hours per week, with greater requirements for several months prior to local Weekend to Remember events.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be an active Group Coordinator.
  • Possess a good working knowledge of the Internet, email, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.
  • Willing to learn other effective social media avenues to share the WTR event(s).
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and relational skills.
  • Maintain personal social media accounts that reflect godly character, include no inappropriate content, and cause no dishonor to the name of Christ

Responsibilities:

  • Consistent walk with Christ.
  • By God’s grace, model godly family relationships.
  • Pray for the team, for FamilyLife leadership, and for effective completion of this ministry.
  • Attend and participate in Area Team meetings.
  • Participate in team ministry efforts onsite during the Weekend to Remember(s).
  • Work with the Weekend to Remember Directors to craft a social media strategy for the Team.
  • Lead Team efforts in executing their social media strategy.
  • Provide leadership for Digital Media Specialists on the Team.
  • Create tailored social media posts for the local Team, complete with current links, for upcoming Weekend to Remember events.
  • Provide training and support for team members in utilizing social media as part of the team’s invitational strategy.
  • Assist team members as needed in protecting themselves from inappropriate content on social media.

Required Training:

  • Familiarization with social media graphics on the FamilyLife website under the Promotional Toolkit tab.
  • Clear understanding of the invitation process for the WTR, and content on the Invite Others section on the FamilyLife website.
  • Familiarization with GC Mobile and the Resources section containing links, FamilyLife’s social media platforms, and inviting resources.
  • Familiarization with church websites in their local area.
