How to Host a Weekend to Remember
Information/Registration Table
in Your Church

The easier it is for a couple to register for a Weekend to Remember, the more likely they are to attend… and the more likely it is that God will transform their lives, marriages, and families. That’s why one of the most powerful things you can do as a group coordinator is to set up an Information & Registration Table in the foyer of your church in the weeks leading up to the Getaway.

Those who host an Information/Registration Table often see 10 couples, 20 couples, or more attend a Getaway. What a blessing it is for them to then have 2, 4 or more FREE couples’ registrations to give away as gifts!

BEFORE YOU HOST

  • Talk to your church to get their permission for you to host a Registration table.
  • Make sure that bulletin announcements include information about the Registration table.
  • Ask the church to play the promo DVD at the start of services – for 3-6 weeks prior to event. (download)

SET-UP

  • Set up your table in an area where there is a good amount of traffic, yet room enough for people to congregate around the table.
  • Cover the table with a nice tablecloth.
  • Place 3 or 4 large (11 x 17) Weekend to Remember posters on the wall behind the table, and high enough to be seen over the heads of people. You might want to affix a couple more to cardboard stands as a tabletop display.
  • Set up your laptop and have it open to the registration page for your event. (Be careful not to let them walk away! Yes, it happens.)
  • Videos are great for drawing interest. If possible, have one additional laptop dedicated to playing Weekend to Remember videos.
  • Arrange the supplies listed above such that it makes a nice presentation, and your guests can find the same information at either end of the table.

HOSTING TIPS

  • Pray! Before, during, and after, asking God to work through you to make an impact on many marriages.
  • Schedule at least two couples to be present at the table 15 minutes before and after each service.
  • To prepare for common questions, have each host thoroughly read through the Weekend to Remember brochure in advance, and acquaint themselves with details about the hotel.
  • Rule of thumb for figuring out how many brochures to have…10 brochures for every 100 who attend.
  • Smile as you talk with people! 🙂
  • Be ready to share your own story about how the Weekend to Remember impacted your own marriage, or the marriage of some else that you know.
  • Consider offering a drawing for a free marriage resource, such as Rekindling the Romance or Moments Together by FamilyLife.

May the Lord bless your Ministry of Invitation!
